Feel Good Friday

After the very serious posts of the last 2 days, I definitely need some light hearted fun for today's post! First, a sincere thank you for the supportive and understanding comments on those serious posts. Talking about an abusive past and healing from it is a tender subject- not just for me but for some who read about it. *~*~*~*~* I am VERY excited about the upcoming 24 hours. We are having a women's retreat at church. It's Friday evening and Saturday all day. Some of the men are coming in to cook us breakfast and lunch on Saturday. The part I'm really excited about is that some of the women- myself included- are spending the night at the church! My friend Ashli is one of the women staying and we literally squealed like school girls when we each found out the other would be there. It's been years since I've looked forward to a slumber party!! The night's theme is Chocolate and Chick Flicks. *~*~*~*~* Thanks to my friend Amy at the 4th Frog Blog and thanks to the Queen of Free, I've been invited to attend an upcoming Mom Bloggers Roundtable with my state's Lieutenant Governer in mid-February. I have no idea what this kind of event entails... but I'm glad I have peeps in the blogosphere who are looking out for me and including me! *~*~*~*~* Yesterday's boot camp workout was a different and fun idea our trainer came up with- we played workout Bingo! There were 3 of us. We each got a Bingo board. In each of the squares was a different exercise- run 1/4 mile, 2 minutes on the bike, 2 sets of 60 seconds of lunges, and so on. You pick 5 and do them however you'd like. Penalties could be assessed for bad form, poor sportsmanship, etc. First one to complete 5 in a row and yell "Bingo!" would win a prize. in 11 minutes and 10 seconds, I completed: 2 set of 45 seconds of seated rows (weights) Run 1/4 mile Whatever I choose for 2.5 minutes 2 sets of 20 V-ups (sit on bench, balance on butt, pull legs out and in while leaning back and sitting up) 3 sets of 10 squat jumps The part I'm most proud of is that I ran that 1/4 mile in 3 minutes! If I could maintain that speed, I'd run a mile in 12 minutes. That would be awesome! For those interested, my second workout set was done in 11 minutes and 33 seconds: bike for 2 minutes 2 45 second sets of butt kicks 2 sets of 60 seconds of lunges 2 sets of 15 push ups same seated row set as above *~*~*~*~* Jeff and 2 of his friends have started a podcast- The 2 am Podcast. This past week, Brian was out of town so I got to sit in as a guest. I actually had a lot of fun with Jeff and Dave. listen in and let me know what you think! Maybe there can be an Eternal Lizdom podcast someday... *~*~*~*~* I hope you have some enjoyable plans for the weekend- whether it's time with friends and family or a night out with a loved one or maybe some down time alone.

Thanks for sharing your story and moving on to happier topics. I try to do the same thing. Abuse is rampant and devastating. So happy you are who you are too! Enjoy you plans. Dh and I are going on a roadtrip!

Years ago I thought podcasts would be more popular than blogs. Now I wonder if they will last. Somethings are just fads.

A podcast sounds like so much fun! So, do they actually have to be awake at 2AM, or is it prerecorded?
