Motivation

It is 6:41 a.m., Saturday. I'm meeting a friend for breakfast at 9. It's about a 10 minute or so drive. Which means I should get my running clothes on and go for a run. I could get in a decent run. But my brain is trying to talk me out of it. I'm trying to dig deep and find my motivation but my brain and my body keep talking me out of it. There's no good reason not to go. There's a long list of great reasons to just go do it. Even my excuses to not go become great reasons to actually go. Motivation. Send some my way, please! Photobucket

Run Liz, think about how good you feel when you are finished with your run.
You are already awake.
You can eat more fuel for your body at breakfast if you go run.
You love the quiet time when you run.
You need to get used to your new shoes.
You have a 10k coming up soon.
You inspire and motive so many others with your running.
Enough?

Be healthy! Go do it! I'm bummed I've had to miss my yoga class last week and this week because of a wedding today and a retreat last week. I feel yucky. But YOU have the opportunity---go do it!

Or, you know, take up something less awful than running. Running is awful. lol

Oops---did that negate the prior motivation? My bad!

I struggle with motivation too! I hope you got out there and got your run in. Maybe a few steps for me too!

Go, go, go! It will be just what you need with that race day looming, and a friend and breakfast will be waiting for you at the end of the run - awesome!

Oops, too late for me...

But if you didn't find your motivation, there is still about 90% of the weekend remaining. Run, Liz, Run! :)

You've already run- so this is post-run motivation. But for any other time- get out there because then you can say you did when others will moan that they didn't. Get out there because you're working towards a greater goal and this is one of the steps towards it.

If nothing else- go out there because you know I'll be out there early on a Saturday too- and one or way or another, in spirit or in person- we are going to get through this Mini training (and race) together!

Great job for getting out there!

(a side note: hope you get some answers at Doc this week- as an exercise enduced asthma sufferer- I know how frustrating it can be- regular treatment has been a real help for me (daily Singulair in my case))

Looks like you did it! Great job. You've earned yourself another Runner Merit Badge! And now you've started yourself off on a positive weekend.
