I'm In A Friday Frame of Mind

Mommy's Idea

It's FRIDAY!!!  It's been a blessedly short work week for me.  I came back Weds and now it's Fri and I'm thrilled to already have the weekend in front of me!  Added blessing was that my bosses went out of town on business for the week- they left Tuesday and are back this afternoon.  That means that my short work week was a bit less hectic because theyw ere busy with other stuff. Fun weekend ahead! I'm looking forward to out weekend!  Tomorrow starts with my first Team In Training run first thing in the morning.  The team actually met last week but I was out of town.  Our coach was also unavailable as he was participating in a Team In Training cycling event last weekend.  I'm looking forward to it!  Then home to get the family and head to the Farmer's Market! I'm eager to see what goodies we find this week!  Saturday night we're headed to a minor league baseball game with a big group from church.  Sunday we have church in the morning and then head to a friend's daughter's graudation open house.  Jeff has known this friend since high school and has known the daughter since she was born.  Great family, great reason to celebrate!

Speaking of Team In Training... I really hate asking for donations.  I hate being so pushy and annoying and repetitive.  But the sooner I make my goal, the sooner I can stop asking.  Yesterday was our goal date for mailing out letters.  I wrote a letter but only came up with 12 addresses to mail it to because all of my connections are via e-mail.  I sent out a mass e-mail a couple of weeks ago and I guess I'll need to send another.  Seriously- if you have any great fundraising ideas or know people who love to donate money to really great causes, could you direct them towards my efforts?  Like I said, the sooner I make my goal, the sooner you stop seeing/hearing me ask for money!

Christy and I are wearing our Team In Training shirts today at work.  We're all matchy and stuff.  Sometimes we do that accidentally- have you had that happen with someone you're close to?  She'll get in the car (we ride to work together) and I'll realize we're wearing the same colors.  I've had it happen with my husband and with my kids.

I have adorable pics of my 3 year old eating an ice cream cone... not sure you can handle the cuteness.  When we go for ice cream, we are typically bowl eaters.  But on our weekend getaway, we enjoyed ice cream cones.  He had to figure out how to get to the ice cream that was left down inside the cake cone and he made sure he wasn't going to miss a drop!

Have a great weekend!

That's a busy weekend! Monday is a public holiday here and we have very little planned - except for my mum's birthday party on Monday. :-) Her twin sister is coming up for the day and my dad's birthday is two days later so he's getting in on the action too (even though Mum and Dad are separated they still do social stuff together, especially family events).

*is ded of cute*

Keep asking! :) I know I'm planning to donate but need to talk to the hubs about it first. If you keep asking it helps us "plan to" folks not to totally forget.

Team in Training as in Leukemia and Lymphoma? If so, thank you. I had a friend who died at 24 of leukemia in November. Her boyfriend does Team events, just did a hike of the Grand Canyon, so I do support him.

Blessings!

It's never any fun asking for money, but you are doing a fine job.

My sister posted photos this week of her little one with choc ice cream all over her face. It must be that time of year!
