Speaking of BlogHer
Many of my blogging contacts, buddies, friends attended the BlogHer conference in Chicago this past weekend. I've noticed a disturbing trend.
Why are so many NOT sharing all the connections made, wonders, swag, talks, readings, etc from the trip? Almost every post I read that mentions BlogHer usually starts and ends with apologies for bringing it up.
Huh?
I WANT TO READ MORE! Don't make me go and read generic accounts from bloggers I don't know... if I read you and you were there, I want every. single. juicy. detail.
I want to hear about every Ree sighting. I want pics of the conference, the meetings, walking around, the parties. I want stories. I want to hear about meeting face to face for the first time. I want to know who you met that you'd been unaware of before. I want to hear about the celebrities who were there.
I didn't even consider going but I love to live it vicariously through others.
So stop apologizing. And start writing!

Ok, so maybe YOU should do some sharing...I've seen the BlogHer logo on Cakewrecks, but I thought it was just an advertising gimmick. So tell us, what the heck is BlogHer??
I bet Garret wants to know.
I don't know much. I joined it but haven't really pushed myself with it.
It's an online community of women bloggers. I believe there are many men bloggers on now, too, but mostly dad bloggers. The women who are part of BlogHer aren't just moms, either. All kinds of blogging women. So it's a networking thing for women bloggers.
And they have an annual conference in Chicago. To network and connect. And it's turned into a huge event. And next year, on the 10th anniversary, it will be in NYC! I'm playing with the idea of going... it would be fun to take the kids to NYC... or to go by myself and stay with my friend Jim... we'll see. But I want to hear more and more about it before deciding if it would be worth the expense!
Well Flartus, I was going to go but Alix refused to loan me a wig. I had to skip it.
And just so you know- I totally made up that whole 10th whatever thing. That's total BS. My only excuse is that I've only had 1 cup of coffee today so my brain isn't firing correctly. They do conferences all over the country, apparently. And next year's is in NYC.
I didn't hear the whole story on NPR, but they were talking about BlogHer and the whole mommyblog in general. I need to see if I can find it online to listen to it all.
I guess that I would need to be a blogger before I could go!!
Amen..I was thinking the same thing...man I put my school reunion all over my blog...NOW Lets see there big "blogher" convention!
OK, here's a selfish reason that I'm sure is not true, but I'll bring up anyway…
They knew that I lived there and completely felt bad about not hooking up with me so their whole trip was spoiled with guilt.
