'Twas the Night Before Preschool
The backpack was filled
And all through our home
Preparations were happening
For the big day to come!
**
Clothes were laid out
To dress fast the next day
A carefully planned outfit
And new shoes- hooray!
And laid just by the stairs
Photo album and blanket
Packed in with care
She awoke filled with gleeAnd her hands started clapping
"I'm so happy for school"
She said with feet tapping!
**
She dressed and she ate
Out the door like a flash
So excited to go
To the car we did dash!
**
Arrival on time
Traffic lighter than planned
Posing for pictures
Mom's camera in hand
Our big girl, so proud
With her backpack on tight
Outside this door
Everything looks and feels right
By the PC's to pose
So excited to have time
To play in these rows
Hang up the backpack
Find her named cubby
She's got quite the knack
Some hugs for her dad
Off to check out the room
So proud and so glad
Showed her around
So many toys,
Adventures to be found!
Time has gone so fast
And this little person
Is a Big Girl at last
She'll rest and she'll read
The teachers will take care
Of all that she needs
At least not by me
But someone please explain this
To little Zachy
**
He cried for his sister
He cried in the car
Not understanding why
We left her so far
**
But tears turned to giggles
His frown to a grin
His drop off went smoothly
So everyone wins
**
So Teagan's First Day
Has begun oh so sweetly
Here's hoping the day
Speeds by oh so neatly!

Oh my word! What a fantastic post! Liz, you are amazing. So happy Teagan had a good morning and is so thrilled with going to school. I'm proud of her and mama and Zachy too.
Can't wait to know all the happy details of her first day!
I agree with the bimbo above, this IS a fantastic post! I love it. I smiled through the whole thing. You have truly outdone yourself with this awesome poem!
How adorable she looked for her first day...(it's still early you still might shed a tear)after all she is growing bigger and has left the nest ...to start flying on her own...
what?? No tears? Dangit, I have to admit I'm a little disappointed.
Ah well...it's so much more important that Teagan was excited about her first day. Not scared, intimdated or upset. Which points to her parents modeling some pretty positive attitudes about their big little girl going off on her own!
Congratulations, and don't blink, or you'll suddenly find yourself at her HS graduation!
I have to admit, I got a little watery. She looks so beautiful.
Awwww.....
Any tears Momma?
Dylan liked the poem.
Love the poem! Looks like she had a great first day!
Liz! You didn't cry? I'm really surprised!
That was a great poem!
And I'm LOL at Garret's comment about Alix. (now that he's hours away from her house)
AWWWWW! I'm so glad that she had a good day!
That was wonderful! You are very creative. I'm glad she (and her parents) got through it unscathed!
Amazing post. Thanks for sharing!
This is gorgeous Liz :-)
