It's 90210 Day. I'm geekishly excited about it. Much thanks to my college pal, Pam, for the heads up!! I was a total fan of 90210- even when it was no longer cool. I even watch the new series even though it doesn't come close to comparing to the original. I went through high school and college "with" the 90210 gang. I remember when David Silver's best friend accidentally shot himself. I remember Kelly's rape. I remember the break in at the beach condo. I remember Brenda & Dylan and Kelly & Dylan and Kelly & Brandon and Donna & David. I remember Donna being in an abusive relationship with that singer dude. Andrea's pregnancy. The Walsh family fighting racism. Dylan facing mob type bad guys surrounding his mysterious father. Kelly's drug problem. Enagements and murder and weddings and funerals. They tackled the issue of AIDS and refugees and eating disorders and cheating in school and the classic "teen crisis hotline" and teen drinking and stalker ex-girlfriends/boyfriends and sex ed and... well, no issue was left unturned! It was overly dramatic, it was glamorous (those girls all went off for sumemr trips to New York, Paris, London to do "modeling"). So here's to 90210 Day! I hope you can enjoy a few episodes and remember the good old days when high-drama on TV was never going to be anything like real life! Check out the CBS channel on YouTube for episodes!
