There are 2 memes I like to participate in on Fridays- Mrs4444's Friday Fragments and The Girl's Feel Good Friday. Buttons are at the bottom of the post- click over to join in on the fun!

I got the most awesome compliment from someone yesterday. A friend I know through a local mom's website started reading my blog. She actually went back to the start of the blog and had gotten to Aug 2009 when she sent me a message letting me know what a great time she was having. So I went back and glanced over August 2009 (I hope you will go scan through, too). So funny to see what is still the same and what has changed! Farmer's Market- still the same. Pics of my kids- so different! A post I wrote about love and marriage that I'm still proud of. Posts about the State Fair last year- which I enjoyed more than the Fair this year and reading those posts helps me understand why. So fun to go back!!

It's a LONG weekend!! We were supposed to go to TN for a family reunion. For a variety of reasons, we haven't been able to go the past few years and were eager for the trip this year. However, our house/dogsitter is out of town that weekend and Christy is off to Paris and my in-laws are going to TN for the reunion. That is our plan A, B, and C for taking care of Sassy! We don't like the idea of kenneling her. She hasn't been kenneled in a decade. She's 12 years old and weighs 8 pounds. I have friends who have offered to keep her- but they have dogs and I'm just not comfortable with sticking my ltitle 8 lb dog into a pack of others, you know?

Trying to get my hair back to the right shade of red is annoying. The first color I went with was too dark and too metallic. It was supposed to be permanent but sure did rub off all over the towel every time I washed it! Tried a different color and brand and I think it will be better but it needed more time on the roots to hold. So that is one task to get done on my day off today- I will try yet another brand and shade!

This is post number 1,004. That is a lot of typing!

I've mentionned a project I'm going to be working on that I'm excited about... it's for FitCity and I get to do some interviewing and experiencing tomorrow that I'm very excited about!

What fun plans do you have for the holiday weekend? If it's just a regular weekend... what are your plans? Since we were expecting to be out of town, we have nothing on the schedule this weekend. I do plan on going to the Farmer's Market on Saturday. Other than that... it's up in the air!

Wow, that is a lot of posts!
Hope you have a relaxing weekend! We are waiting to see if my boys have school tomorrow- we are on a delay- it will depend on what the hurricane does tonight! And that will determine the rest of our weekend, too.
You enjoyed the Fair last year more than this year? I better go back and read last year's post!
I'm curious about your Fit City thing. You've interviewed Jared the Subway guy. Whose next? If it's Bob Harper or Jillian Michaels, I'm totally jealous. LOL!
Have a great weekend!
I hope you find a dog sitter, I always hate leaving the pets when going on trips...

I totally and completely understand about the dog situation. My parents come over and let Jack out a ton of times during the day if we have to leave. He can't be kenneled.
Now we have Millie and we have a wedding to go to soon. We will be boarding her. SHe is too little to be in a crate all day and my parents can't handle that.
Tyler actually thought to rent an RV just so we could take the dogs with, but Jack has issues with the car so that idea is out. Plus, I am not keen on the idea of relaxing on a trip with 2 dogs. Kind of an oxymoron.
Ohhhh, the dog boarding situation! We have self-sufficient cats and automatic feeders, etc.
Plus we have the best neighbor in the world, Saint Beverley. BUT we no longer have a dog because we love to travel and it just isn't fair to a dog! Not when you want to be gone a lot. Cats amuse each other, but dogs really are needing their own pack members, I think.
I like your blog!
I don't know what we would do if we had to go away and have someone take care of our dogs. Their bladders are the size of peas and they are not small dogs. I feel like I spend all day letting them in and out and they can't make it from midnight until 5 when hubby get up to go out. If one of us does not get up, there is a puddle in front of the door and with 2 dogs we don't know which one is to blame. lol
Hope you find someone and have a great weekend!

Tomorrow is my first every "race". I'm not running to win, I'm running to finish! It's a 4 mile course...I will post on FB when I'm done, but I really want to finish in under an hour. Oh, and did I mention, later that evening is my 20 year HS Class Reunion! Have a good weekend, hot momma!
Amazing that a reader would go back an read through months worth of posts. I've known a reader to comment on a week old one but people don't comment much and certainly not on older ones. Funny because the blogger gets the email of the comment just the same. Recycled posts are good for blogging.
There is so much I don't know and even more that I don't know I don't know. Metallic hair? I'm from the 60's and we had metallic paint jobs on cars. I'm sure you are not talking about glitter so what would metallic hair look like?
That's so cool someone went back so far to catch up to you! What a compliment!
We're just hanging around the house and I hope to get projects done. For some reason, the weather absolutely changed and we went from bikinis to coats and pants! Waaaah.

My cat sitter was hospitalized just before my husband and I had a 10 day trip to Ireland. I ended up giving a key & a crash kitty course to a person in our condo community that I'd only met in the elevator a few times. Thankfully he was a nice guy and the cat actually peeked her head out once or twice he said.
Too bad you aren't going to the reunion, but maybe you could set up a SKYPE chat with someone so you could at least be present for a few minutes. I guess that only works if someone brought a laptop and had internet service. Oh well, I'll be quiet lol

I predict that you're going to love your planless long weekend.

1004! VERY cool :) I understand on the dog thing.
I worked at school til 7pm and still have a little bit more to do, but otherwise have a wide open weekend. Today, we're going to drive Gma4444 out to Kyle's dorm to drop off some goodies. Right now, though, I'm patiently awaiting my steak-and-eggs breakfast!
Have a wonderful weekend, Liz!!
