I Weep

Sometimes she frustrates me to the point that I have to walk away so that I keep my commitment to not spanking her. Sometimes I watch her meltdowns and wonder what planet she came from and what form of alien speak she's using that I'm not understanding. Sometimes I watch her play and am confused and delighted to see her imagination at work. This morning, we were snuggling and kissing in church. She was whispering secrets in my ear. She was grinning and full of joy. And I looked at her bright, shining blue eyes. And I looked at her golden hair, curling at the ends. And I looked at her porcelain white skin and rosy cheeks. And I looked at her smiling bow of a mouth. And I wanted to weep.

I'm sure that's some sort of poetry or something like that. Either way, what a simple, beautiful post.

Amen.

I look forward to the day when T is old enough to read this. She's a lucky little girl.

Ah, a female toddler testing her bounderies (and mommy's). This too shall pass... when she moves out. :)

That was a lovely post, as Garret said. Little kids can be so unnerving one minute and absolutely adorable the next. They really keep you off-balance. I think it's a conspiracy.

Oh, the toddler years are tough, tough, tough. I did plenty of weeping myself, as I recall.

Hang in there...and keep writing beautiful posts about it.

There you have it.... the difference between boys and girls. Even though my sons might do all those same things, it moves a mother to moments of extreme pride rather than weeping for joy.

And I had/have toddlers that are just like this. Go get Raising the Spirited Child and relish the good days. :))

Sometimes you have to realize that children get frustrated easily. Don't always think that they are doing the things they do to make you angry— they just don't know how to deal with the world yet.

I love your honesty and truthfulness in your posts. I look forward to reading more.

Thank you for following me— I'm glad I'm now following you.
