Kid-Bit: Teagan on Marriage

I took Teagan and Zach to the grocery store with me Sunday afternoon. As we strolled the produce section, Teagan struck up a conversation with me. "Mommy? Are you and Daddy married?" "Yes, we are." "How do you know when you are supposed to get married?" "Well, when you are all grown up, you might meet someone who you will fall in love with. And you will find out if you have a lot of important things in common with that person. And you will have to decide together if you want to work really hard to stay together every day for a long, long time." "Oh. I'm going to marry Zachary. From school. Yeah. He just... *giggle*... He's going to kiss me someday and I'll just DIE. But I'll still marry him anyway." Photobucket

Hahaha, oh now THAT sounds familiar haha :-)
I was convinced that I was going to marry either the White Power Ranger or Michael from kindergarten at 5. Glad I didn't haha!

My mom might chime in with more details... but I beleive I had my first marriage proposal in pre-K. The little boy went to my mom when she came to pick me up and asked for my hand in marriage. :) And I had a history of having little boyfriends in elementary school, too. So if Teagan is following in my footsteps.. I'm in trouble!

That's adorable.

We've told my oldest that people have babies after they get married. We were at a wedding this fall, and after the ceremony, he asked the couple, "Where's your baby?" Guess we didn't explain that the baby didn't come immediately after a wedding. LOL

So cute.

When I was 4, I thought I was going to marry Kyle, a boy from my preschool class. He ate crayons, so I ate crayons to get him to notice me.

I'm so glad I've given up doing stupid things to impress boys!
