This Week I'm Gonna Party Like It's...

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

So there's this big huge party going on this week over at 5 Minutes for Mom. I've perused the site once or twice and found some great blogs and such. So when I heard about this week long party that's all about finding other great blogs and also being found by folks looking for new blogs to read... I just had to jump in! There are already a TON of "family friendly" blogs listed. Makes me wish I cussed more or shared naughty pics or soemthing so I could list myself in the not family friendly section- lots fewer entries there. Oh- and if you are a Dad Blogger, plenty of attention available for you! And if you are stopping by from the party and want to know what this little blog is about... Gosh I have a hard time answering that! I am a mom. I have 2 kids- Teagan is 5 and Zach is 2. I love being a mom and am honest about my frustrations and openly seek advice when I'm facing a struggle. We base our parenting on mutual respect, discipline, and self-responsibility. I am a wife. I've been married to Jeff for almost 7 years. We met doing community theatre 9 years ago. We're happily married and he's my best friend and parenting partner. I am an employee. I work full time for 3M in the Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Division as a Global Outsource Manufacturing Procurement Analyst. Say that 3 times fast! I am a Christian. I attend The Promise United Methodist Church and am a very involved member of my congregation. My faith is very much my life. I am also a liberal Democrat and believe and promote acceptance for all. I believe my faith and my political views go hand in hand because God is the purest love and as a Christian, I should be loving all of God's children to the best of my ability. It's not love the sinner, hate the sin. It's simply love others the way God has taught me to love. I am a runner. I'm on a mission to become a Healthier Me. I've lost 21 pounds in 6 weeks and I'm not dieting! I have completely changed my lifestyle and my exercise habits. The weight loss is basically a side effect of my real goal- to run a 5K. I'm doing the Couch to 5K program and everything in my self care choices has changed because of it. I am passionate. I believe in helping others. I believe I can help by spreading the word, by donating things I don't need, by sharing awareness, by giving money, by lifting up, by supporting, by giving advice, by praying. I am a survivor. I have a dark background. Because of it, I actually live as peaceful and calm and rooted a life as I can. Because of my past, I believe I have some different insights- hence, Lizdom. Things I love: dark chocolate, great wine, sushi, sci-fi (this is a new interest), running, my kids, my husband, my friends and family, my faith, my cell phone, ballet flats, baby feet, homemade soap, music, animals, Trader Joe's and Costco and Super Target, playgrounds and parks, sunshine, thunderstorms, and even blizzards. Things I turn away from: chosen ignorance, chosen hatred, fake people, spiders, black licorice, horror movies, traffic jams, liver, beets, people who refuse to take responsibility, my period, headaches, people who hurt my friends or family. I suppose I'm a mommy blogger but I really am a lot more than that. I'm sometimes serious, sometimes fun, sometimes deep, sometimes silly. And I hope you'll stick around! You can follow my blog at the top of the page. I also have a Facebook fan page- I share links to the blog and also bonus notes, disccusions with fans, share pics and videos, and so on. You can find me on Twitters @eternallizdom. Welcome! Photobucket

Nice to meet you! We have some things in common! I am doing couch to 5k as well. Love that program. I also love Jesus sushi, wine, and ballet flats!

I am learning to break through my previous opinions and love others.

I've gotten to know you over the last few weeks as a new reader- but I love reading this intro b/c it showed me how much MORE we have in common. I'm also so proud of you for owning the title, "Runner".

And one last thing- if you love homemade sope and you (or your husband) are into Sci-Fi or any kind of gaming- check out GeekyClean.com - she is an Indy-based soap maker themed for Geeks/Gamers/Sci Fi lovers- but her soap smells awesome and is great.

You're up to 21 pounds?! That's amazing.

I'm so glad to be your (virtual) friend. :)

I realized "up to" is not the best way to put it! So...

You're DOWN 21 pounds?! That's amazing. :)

@Nancy Maybe all bloggers should do "getting to know me" psots on a regualr basis for the sake of new readers and such... :)

@C. Beth Thank you for the up and down compliment. And I'm glad you and I have become friends, too!

I've been following for a while, and I still learned a lot about you in this post. I agree, maybe we should do more "about me" posts for newbies.

And again, congrats on the awesome weight loss. Congrats on living so honestly.

OMG did I really type s-o-p-e? I swear, I AM literate. . . I am sure you knew what I meant, but to redeem myself, soap, she makes soap ;-)

and yes, let's meet up! I think a meet 'n greet at the Komen race might work well!
