Got Any Spare Good Luck?

There have been some interesting events going down in the last 12 hours or so. Jeff and I had a date night last night. We went to the Roller Derby! The kids were uber excited for Aunt Christy to babysit and practically threw us out of the house when she arrived. They had a fantastically great time with Aunt Christy- as they always do. Jeff and I headed out to Texas Roadhouse- located just down the street from where the roller derby event was being held. Our plan was to get an appetizer and beverage and then get to the derby when the doors opened. We were seated immediately- it was only 4:30 so the place wasn't terribly busy. We sat and started munching on peanuts and rolls. And we waited and waited and waited. No one approaches us to even offer to bring us water. It's getting closer and closer to the time we have to leave so... we did. Got up and stopped by the front to let the hostesses know that we waited a good long time and never got any service and we had somewhere we had to be so we were leaving. The manager was standing there and apologized profusely and then gave us a coupon/certificate for free dinner for two. Definitely made up for it! Off we go to the Derby. Opening event is Junior Girls Roller Derby. That was fun- especially sitting next to the family of one of the girls. Her parents and grandparents were very proud and excited of their girl!! Main event started- Circle City Socialites vs Code Blue Assassins (from Bloomington, IN). We were having fun, enjoying the derby. Then... Jeff started to not feel well. By the time the Derby was over, he looked pretty awful. We headed out to the car... we had talked about going to the derby's after party at a local restautant/bar but he looked and felt horrid. He suggested we go to Target and walk around and maybe he would feel better. We get to Target and he can't even get out of the car. Home we go. Jeff headed to the bathroom and bedroom, I sat and caught up on the evening's events with Christy. After about 10-15 minutes, I went back to check on Jeff. He's laying in bed, miserable. He tells me to go out and enjoy some time with Christy since he can't take me out. I hesitate... he might need me or... well, alright. Christy and I went to a new pub that opened a few weeks ago- Chatham Tap (pronounced chad-um). We had portabella mushroom fries (amazingly good) and a gorgonzola pear melt (also amazing). Then off to walk around Target. This morning, I wake up, Jeff is feeling all better, the kids are bright eyed and bushy tailed... so I decide to make breakfast. I had gone to the Farmer's Market yesterday and picked up a dozen farm fresh eggs. These are expensive eggs because of how fresh they are... they came from a local farm... not from an egg laying factory... I've sunk money into farm fresh eggs before and never been disappointed. I scramble up 4 eggs for Jeff and the kids. I'm looking forward to my eggs over easy on top of a slice of bread. I get their eggs served up- including locally grown raspberries for the kids. I start to cook mine... and the shell shatters and several pieces go into the pan. I try to save it but... it's a waste. I clean out the frying pan and start fresh. Crack open the egg and... the yolk breaks. I'm not pitching another egg!! I'll just deal with it. Crack open egg #2 and it breaks, too! Grrrrr.... So I'm wondering what else is up for the day... what's going to go wrong next... what's going to be slightly off kilter? The day ahead is filled with church (half the day), house keeping, packing and planning for our overnight to Fort Wayne. I have a lot to get done today and really don't need a streak of mild bad luck crashing my plans! Anyone have a spare rabbit's foot or 4 leaf clover? Photobucket

Sorry about all your bad luck. I would give you a rabbits foot, but they are all hanging out at Hossier park because everyone is so lucky there on the slots:~/

Hope y'all had a nice forth.
