Rage Against the Meshugenah

Way back before I ever started my own blog, I somehow found Dad Gone Mad. I'm not one of his biggest fans but when I do read, I always enjoy. Good humor, good emotion. And it turns out that Dad has written a book. I've been eagerly anticipating the release. Even used my Smartypants winnings to pre-order it. And it arrived over the weekend. If I only could have had it in my hands before leaving for Chicago... it would have been great as a traveling read. The book- Rage Against the Meshugenah- is about his experience dealing with depression. I'll keep you posted on my thoughts after I read it. I've cracked it open and started the first chapter... and I'm hooked so far! I intended to just read the Prologue last night before bed. But I couldn't stop and ended up reading the first chapter as well. The writing is fast paced and witty and clever. It helps to have an inkling about the Jewish faith but it certainly isn't a requirement. So read it! If you know someone who has suffered depression or if you have or if you just want a good read... I'm not much of a non-fiction reader, least of all on the subject of depression, but you've opened my eyes and ears to this one. I'm looking forward to learning what you think once you're finished.
