The Sun'll Come Out...

In a few weeks, I am very very very very very very very excited to take Teagan to see a local professional production of ANNIE!!! There is a dinner theatre here- Beef and Boards- and they just opened Annie this past weekend. Annie is a show that has been with me since my own childhood. I have to admit that I've never seen a stage production that I can recall. But I've seen the movie countless times. Prior to seeing the movie, I had the soundtrack. I would dance around my bedroom, singing along, coming up with full production numbers... all starring ME. I can't say I dreamed of being Annie... but I did dream of being Grace or being one of the orphans or being Miss Hannigan. I still know every word of every song, I bet. Time to get the soundtrack... I just know Teagan is going to fall in love with it. And I would love to have the soundtrack in the car to listen to as soon as we leave the theatre. So in the next few weeks... there will be a post about it... about the food, about the show, about the experience. Passing on a legacy is so much fun!!

Annie was the first professional play I ever saw. I loved it. Andrea McArdle was Annie. That was way back in 1980.

I have instilled a love a theatre in my 2 girls, so much so that they took to the boards themselves!

(wish Gina break a leg! She's getting ready to audiiton for Thoroughly Modern Millie in 2 weeks!)

I love all theater, and especially musicals. Annie is a classic, and I have the soundtrack, too. I can be found singing It's a Hard Knock Life and You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile on any given day. I'm excited for you!

I never saw the movie nor the play. Some of the songs they had us singing in elementary school. Funny.

Guess what Caitlin is auditioning for on Saturday? Yep, an ensemble role in Annie :)

We went to see Les Mis at the Berowra Musical Society last weekend, which was the show she auditioned for last year, and I saw that they were doing Annie next. Don't know if she'll get a part, we've had very little time to prepare, so *fingers crossed*!

Perhaps they will have Soundtrack CDs at the dinner theater? There always seems to be a merch table at production houses. At least on Broadway in NYC (...and in Italy, even the tram driver who took us from the parking lot to the famous Leaning Tower at Pisa was selling his own CD music that he piped into the PA system on the tram. It was a riot.)

Have fun. I already see Teagan's bliss in my mind's eye.

Curt was JUST talking about Annie last night, he knows it's one that I love too. I'm still holding out for Phantom though, I HAVE to see it again!

I hope you and T have a blast, I know you will!
