The Dinosaur Nest

We are fans of PBS' Dinosaur Train in this house. There's this pteranodon family and when the eggs hatch- one happens to be a T. Rex. The family loves him and they all have adventures taking the Dinosaur Train to different eras and learning about different dinosaurs. Yesterday, we watched an episode with some small dinos that slept in hols in the ground- the pteranodon family lives in a nest. Teagan remarked that she wished she could sleep in a hole. My brain got creative... I told her I could try and make a hole OR I could make her a dinosaur nest on her bed! She opted for the nest (good thing because I was struggling for good, workable ideas for a hole). I really thought it would be a fun little novelty thing for her and that when she actually was ready to go to sleep, she'd pushed it out of the way. Nope- she curled up in it. And even better- it forced her to sleep more upright and that helped with the night time cough we've been fighting!
P.S. If you're on Facebook and would like to connect up... click the button on the right sidebar. I've got a "fan page" set up and will keep it updated with blog links and links to other writing I do- as well as daily updates and who knows what other fun stuff!

One of the joys of living with young children is that their imaginations allow them to appreciate simple games/changes like this. Way to go!

Sweet! Kids are sooooo cute when they sleep! BTW I don't watch TV, so the dino family is new to me. What adorable illustrations. Never thought I'd have any reason to say "What cute dinosaurs!"
