Keeping Up With The...

Nope, not the Jones'. I'm sure they are a perfectly nice family but I'm more focused on keeping up with ME right now! (This post is really about a lot of nothing. I won't be offended if you decide to skip it completely.) I did a lot of hard work this past week. I don't want to lose what I've done. So I am making a true effort to keep up with it. Got up this morning and, instead of plunking down on the couch, I straightened up, loaded the dishwasher, made some tea. I've put in laundry, done the lunch dishes, brought up clean clothes, put away toys, made beds, gathered up some trash, took a bag of trash outside. I've even gotten in a workout today! Jeff set up my Wii Fit on Jan 1. I wonder how many days in a row I can actually do a workout with it? 3 days so far!! Whoever came up with the Wii Fit is a genious. I've always been a fan of yoga, for example. Doing some of the poses on the Wii Fit has helped me improve my breathing and my balance in ways I never imagined. Warrior pose? Piece of cake! But doing it with Wii Fit, I discovered that I didn't have the weight distributed correctly in both legs. Go figure! There is even a set up so I can do the step thing while watching TV and my little Wii wrist thingee keeps me on pace for a set amount of time! Goals for today... 1. Get the tree down. Meant to do that on New Years Day but it just didn't happen. 2. Vaccuum the main living space. 3. Fold clean clothes, wash one more load. Zach is sick. Poor baby. Snotty, congested, cough, phlegmy. He sounds hoarse... and just looks kind of miserable. Had a low fever last night. Thermometer said it was 99.5 but he felt so much hotter. Motrin helped and he slept deeply after 3 a.m. Not so much from 1 a.m. until then, though. But that's ok. He slept in until 8 a.m. and Jeff was nice enough to let me sleep, too! Jeff and Teagan are out on a date... off to see The Tale of Despereaux. It looks like a really cute movie!! I hope they both enjoy it and enjoy their time together! Tomorrow's goals... 1. Encourage Jeff to clean out the dining room area. I really, really, really want my table back! Maybe everyone can leave a comment for him to encourage him to get it done... 2. Clean out the linen closet. Yesterday was Jeff's birthday. He'd kill me if I told you how old he is so I'll leave that part alone. I hope he enjoyed his day. We got him a "Star Trek Cookbook." Our friend Christy gave him a Goofy t-shirt and a set of comic books. My mom gave him a gift card to a local Chinese place. We brought in dinner from that Chinese place ("Family Dinner for 3" include the pu-pu platter, soup, rice, and 3 entrees- garlic chicken, beef broccoli, and sweet and sour pork- for $35... and we had it for lunch today and have enough food leftover for at least 2-3 more meals). Teagan and I baked him a cake. White cake, vanilla icing, decorated with sprinkles. Turned down the lights, lit candles, sang "Happy Birthday." I've got a grocery list made- with a vague sense of a menu for the week and recipes picked out. I don't know where this organizational energy is coming from but I really want to keep hold of it!!

You're mighty ambitious today! Note to Jeff - give Liz her table back!! We have a desk in our kitchen that I constantly need to reclaim, so I can empathize. And after that table is cleaned - Happy Birthday to you!

I got a Wii Fit in December and love it too! I've lost 5 pounds and have more energy than I have in a long time. Genius!

Just did my Wii Fit for the day. Feeling good! I woke up feeling awful and not wanting to do anything but doing the Wii Fit, I'm ready to take on some challenges!

You know, Jeff, they say the way to romance a woman is by doing household chores... It's very true.

Wii Fit-Wish I had one :)

Hey Liz! I envy your energy. We went to a party last night, so I'm moving kind of slow this morning. I'm not gonna lie... I got a little tipsy. But it was fun and I hope to get some pics up soon.

I need to find out about this Wii Fit thing. I've been doing a little research and I've seen the good and bad customer reviews. What scares me is the price - not for the Wii Fit balance board, but for the game system which I will have to buy just to run Wii Fit. Other than that, I don't need a video game system. Is it worth the $400 I'd have to spend? Add to that another $250 for the BodyBugg Peach has made me want and I'm looking at a big budget for a gal who has no income. Is it worth the expense in your humble opinion?
